Jesus substitutionary death and resurrection as Lord are always presented together in the Bible and should be constantly in our minds. Easter is a call to remembrance that in a real place and time, Jesus took our place in punishment for sin so that we could be reconciled to God and fellowship with His other blood-bought people by cooperation in His work motivated by love and out of submission to God. The events of Easter also call us to holiness, purity and prayerfulness.
