Dear Heavenly Father, Please be w/ all the persons, families, & communities in Alabama, Georgia, & Tennesee that were effected by the terrible Tornados and also those that have been effected by flooding. Dear Lord shelter them, feed them, cloth them & let this terrible calamity be transformed in to an another opportunity to glorify you & your son Jesus, bringing the masses to you in great numbers. Specifically, I ask that you will guide & support those like the Samaritan Center http://thesamaritancenter.net/index.html that is providing for the needs of the children w/ a school supply drive for the Hamilton, Bradley, and Catoosa County Schools and their students who were affected by the tornado. These kids have lost so much, they need to finish the school year well! Please provide the following supplies: School Supplies Binders Folders College rule and wide rule notebooks Black Composition Journals (they do come in other colors, no wire) Copy paper 5 tab Dividers Loose Leaf/ Filler paper (wide rule/college rule) Index cards (ruled and non-ruled) Graphing paper Post-it notes individually wrapped Construction paper Kindergarten paper pads Pocket dictionary/thesaurus Dry erase markers Highlighters Zippered Pencil pouches/boxes Fat Pencils (for kindergarten kids) Color markers Blue, Black, and Red ink pens 12 Count Colored pencils Scissors (safety and pointed) Glue sticks Covered Pencil Sharpener Cap Eraser, Pink Pearl eraser 8 count fat crayons, 24 count crayons Washable markers, (10 count) Paper towels (wrapped in individual packs) Kleenex (no travel size) Hand sanitizer (full size) Band aids Ziploc baggies, sandwich, gallon and quart size Lysol or Clorox wipes Baby Wipes Flash drives, at least 1gb Graphing calculators (TI-83+, TI-84, TI-84 Silver,) Lunch bags/boxes Backpacks (especially for middle and high school) *New socks (no show: men, boys, girls, women sizes) *New underwear (boxers: men and boys and characters for the small boys) panties (women and girl sizes) Please deliver supplies to the Samaritan Center on Monday and Tuesday (May 9 and 10), 10am-6pm. Also, assist them w/ the community in Northeast Alabama that was struck by the disaster, but has fallen through the cracks in receiving aid. They have sent close to $3,000 worth of personal care kits, new undergarments, tarps, water, etc. to that community to begin meeting the needs there, and meeting any other specific needs they can meet to help them recover from the disaster. They need gas cards, clothing vouchers, food boxes, and more, and helping them prepare for the coming weeks and months as they will need different types of help. They are also providing support to other agencies and help centers, supplying them with bath towels, personal care kits, food, toys, and more. Due to the rapidly changing needs in the affected areas, financial donations allow them the best flexibility to assist where needed. In-kind donations of laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, baby supplies, full-sized personal care items, and children's underwear (new) are also needed. No one understands their needs better than you Lord. Only you can make the impossible possible. May your will be done here on earth as it is in heaven. Deliver them from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, the power & the glory forever. In the name of Immanuel, Amen.
