 <--------- The last thing I expected from our trip was to find there tuned-up acoustic piano and play togheter with my friend on cello (an instrument we found there too!) the main dance called "coladeira" !!! |
 We needed to prepare everything to Campo Escolha - christian campus for youth from whole Cape Verde ---------> |
 <--------- And so we led and took part in conferences about faith in our times, first help, ecology and culuture of course (I played Chopin on Casio ;D). Those all moments together helped us to understand, that we are really the one big family in Jesus Christ! |
 Each day I played the music with our capeverdian brothers. We musically prepared the Masses, organized final concert in Academia da Musica Jotamonte and recorded the CD in trio with Joel (on the photo) and Valerio ("Pescador" you can listen as a background to video I uploaded in here!) ---------> |
 <--------- I loved their music. The well known kind of Cabo Verde is slow and melancholic "morna", but also popular is "batuque", very fast "funana" and "zuque" (we called it "capeverdian disco music" ;D). On the photo we have Babtistas brothers (on left) playing cavaquinho and cajon and Valerio on guitar. |
 I'll never forget the meeting with Cesaria Evora at her house. I just decided to visit the "queen of morna" and knock on her door... Right on the place we were told she has her 67 birthday (God likes surprises!). With my rainstick we sang "Sto lat" (polish birthday song) and gave her a handy cross from polish wood (she liked it much!!) ---------> |
